Week #1 - Part One.png

Step by Step

One of the concepts that keep me on track in to remember that to reach a goal I have to take the first step towards that goal. Then the next, and so on and so on. I think about how many people have become successful and or famous, and I think there was a day where they put their plan into place and moved forward into their dreams, hopes, and their happily ever after. They had to take that first step.

* "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way." Psalm 37:23

* "Order my steps in thy word, and let not any iniquity have dominion over me." Psalm 119:133

* "He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness, for by strength shall no man prevail." 1 Samuel 2:9

Our steps are so important to the Lord. What stands out to me most is that he orders our steps, and he is delighted. God has a plan for us, so even as we are taking that first step, God is well aware of where that step will take us. In our second verse, I love that David is asking God to order his steps in thy word, furthermore to not let any iniquity (sin) have dominion over him. What this verse reveals to me is that if I am walking in God's word, and not asking that sin have dominion over me, then my success will be honoring to God no matter how much or how little. And now the promise, that God will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness. God is watching over my steps, and keeping the wicked at bay according to his will.

The most important part of the ending of any journey is the first step. You can't enjoy the ending of a good book without the beginning of the story. We have to have the beginning to have the ending. So take that first step, and then the next no matter how hard, or how much it hurts and keep going until you reach the ending that you hoped for. God will be waiting for us there.
